Alba made her feature film debut in Camp Nowhere (1994), however her big break came when writer/director James Cameron picked her from a pool of 1,200 candidates for the role of the genetically-engineered super-soldier, Max Guevara, on the FOX sci-fi television series Dark Angel. Her role earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Alba's most notable roles include: an aspiring dancer-choreographer in Honey (2003), an exotic dancer in Sin City (2005) and as the classic Marvel Comics character Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman in the Fantastic Four (2005). Later in 2005, Alba appeared in its sequel, Into the Blue. In 2008, she appeared in The Eye, her first horror-film role. Later in 2008, she starred in The Love Guru. Her next role is in An Invisible Sign of My Own to be released in 2009.
